Smoked Strawberry Pie

There's nothing better than a scrumptious Strawberry Pie with a smoky recteq twist!
Instructions
- Step 1: To prepare the dough, in a mixing bowl combine the flour and cold butter with a fork or dough cutter until the texture resembles sand.
- Step 2: Add the water and salt and mix until the dough forms a ball. Divide the dough into two equal portions, wrapping them in plastic and allowing to rest in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
- Step 3: In a bowl combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, cornstarch and orange zest, mixing well.
- Step 4: Remove the dough. On a lightly floured surface roll into 1/8th inch thick sheet, about 1 inch bigger than the baking dish. Place one in the bottom of the baking dish.
- Step 5: Fill the pan with the strawberry mixture, top with the second dough sheet and seal off the edges.
- Step 6: In a small bowl, beat the egg, with a pastry brush lightly brush the top with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the second listed sugar.
- Step 7: Preheat recteq to 400°F, bake the pie for 35-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the strawberry filling is thick.
